Conversely I love the abundance of information that is available. Media makers have become both contributors and teachers through websites like www.skillshare.com. Ideally I would like to go even further than the unstable rise and fall of trending topics. I use social media sparingly and question every bit of information from media outlets and makers alike. I want to use this knowledge to contribute through graphic design, film, photography any other form of media without having to rely on the ability to garner followers or go viral.

Love/Hate Relationship
I am a simple individual. My role in media consumption is that of both a student and critic. Not much much of who I am is based on media examples due to my belief that I shouldn't follow popular culture. When I was younger I was more dependent on social media, blogs, news articles on the internet and alot of other sources of mass media. However as I go older I felt that I no longer needed to participate as heavily as I used to because of the mass appeal of volatile nature of the internet. My preference for speaking to people in person about an important topic rather than liking a post or leaving a comment has increased. I feel as though people are less inclined to take a moment longer to think before making a comment. This leads to racist, sexist, and all around offensive opinions generated and propagated quickly through these media outlets. As a result, I tend to stay away from Twitter and Facebook. I feel like too much of our shared experience involves mass media events because misinformation spreads too quickly (i.e Chris Paul).
