Group 4- Presentation Recap
Body Image has complex categories that effect humans, especially women in society when they are targeted in the media. Side effects are shown among common social perception when young generations reenact and become emotionally disturbed because of content seen across all mediums in the media being produced. The portrayal of body image by the media leads to the formation of marginalized groups. Young women are often targeted in ads and the sexualization of the body seems more unavoidable as time passes. Our group will discuss body dysmorphia and all the subcategories that deviate from body dysmorphia. Some of the subcategories that we cover are weight, skin, height, hair, shape, plastic surgery and the over all commonality of these factors among todays society.
